Cannabis & CBD Oil

The Vault Cannabis Seed Store CBD

One of the most popular cannabis extracts is oil, likely because it is easy to consume, healthier than smoking and far stronger than smoked cannabis. However, when it comes to oil there are a few different types. The most popular and cannabis oil and CBD oil. But what is the difference between these two varieties?

What is it?

CBD oil comes from just one part of the resin extract, the CBD funnily enough. Researchers have been studying CBD for several years and have found several therapeutic uses. Usually, when people think of cannabis they think THC. This is the chemical in the resin that provides the high. CBD is thought to be the therapeutic chemical that provides pain relief, nausea relief and many other types of medicinal help. It is ideal for medicinal users because it doesn’t provide a psychoactive effect and provides relief without altering the mindset of the user.

How Does It Work?

Cannabis works generally by interacting with receptors in the body. CBD interacts with the CBD1 and CBD2 receptors that each deal with different aspects of our brain. CB1 receptors are found all over the body and tend to interact with mood, emotion, pain, movement, memories, appetite, thinking and several other functions. CB2 receptors are linked to inflammation and pain, they are commonly found in the immune system.

What Is It Used For?

There are a number of different uses for CBD oil, all of which are therapeutic.

It can be used by those who are suffering from:

Sleep Disorders

PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)

Severe Nausea

Joint Pain

Parkinson’s Disease

Bipolar Disorder

Cancer and Cancer Treatment

And several other issues and symptoms as well as working as an aid for those trying to quit smoking.

Because research into CBD oil is relatively new we aren’t yet sure what kind of issues it could cause. There are always chances that the oil could interact badly with other medication or with underlying health issues.

Some of the possible risks of taking CBD oil are:

Issues with mood or volatile emotional breaks.

Reduction in alertness or motor skills, users should not operate heavy machinery.

Potential liver damage, especially in heavy drug or alcohol users.

Gastrointestinal issues, nausea or lack of appetite.

Issues with male fertility.

All of these are unlikely but potential side effects and it is always a good idea to check with a doctor before starting with CBD oil, especially if you’re on any other medication.

Cannabis Oil

What Is It?

Cannabis oil also known as Marijuana oil or THC oil comes from the other aspect of cannabis resin. This oil is infused with THC from the plant which is the psychoactive ingredient. THC oil was created to be recreational and so it does have an effect on the brain which CBD oil does not. This doesn’t mean that it can only be used recreationally, many still use it for therapeutic purposes.

Recreational users may prefer THC oil because it doesn’t need to be smoked and so is thought to be healthier. It is easy to use a precise quantity and it is significantly more discrete. As THC oil is created using pure THC it is far stronger than smoking cannabis. This means that a small amount will last longer and it’s ideal for those with high tolerances.

THC oil can still be ideal for medicinal users who require help sleeping, who suffer from depression or are dealing with severe and chronic pain.

How Does It Work?

THC works in the same way as the CBD by clinging to the CB1 receptor. This means it goes to the brain and alters our perception of emotions, reality, pain, sadness and so on. The THC can stimulate the appetite, improve the mood and reduce pain so that we can just get on with life. Although it may not be ideal for daytime use if there are things to get done, more of a finding a way to relax through symptoms.

What Is It Used For?

THC oil is popular with medicinal and recreational users alike due to its potency, its power and long-lasting effect. It is an excellent way for cannabis users to enjoy its effects without having to smoke or vape. This is perfect for those who are suffering from asthma or similar respiratory illnesses. For certain severe chronic pain issues simple CBD oil won’t be enough and the THC is necessary to numb the pain effectively.

THC oil can also be put into drinks or food for an easy edible high. We just need to ensure that we use the correct dosage as THC oil can be extremely potent. Much more so than cannabis when it is smoked.

Of course with strong drugs, there are some risks that we always take into account by using.

The following are some of the more common negative side effects of THC:

Dry Mouth

Dry Eyes

Some slightly less common side effects include:

Severe anxiety or paranoia.

Nausea or vomiting.

Extreme dizziness or lack of equilibrium.

Of course, it is impossible to know what kind of effect strong THC will have. So those using THC oil for the first time should just use a small dose and increase from there. Of course, there is still potential for THC oil to interact with medications and underlying conditions.

CBD vs THC Oil

The primary difference between these two products is the effect they have on the brain and so what they are used for. Both can be used therapeutically and both work by attaching themselves to CB receptors in our bodies. However, CBD oil is non-psychotropic and THC does still have a high to it. Essentially this means that the primary difference is that one is purely medicinal and the other is both medicinal and recreational. Which one is better suited is total down to the individual.
